Thomas E. Grant
, 59, died suddenly on Thursday February 19, 2009 in the St. Michael’s Medical Center in Newark. Mr. Grant was born in Jersey City and has lived in Kearny since 1977.
He was a Workforce Manager for the NJ Dept. of Labor for 30 years. He was still employed at the time of his death. As an avid outdoorsman and hiker he was a member of the Adirondack Mountain Club. He was a member of the St. Peters College Alumni, graduating in 1972 with a degree in Sociology. He was an active parishioner in St. Cecilia Church. He was an all around good guy.
He is survived by his wife Lorraine (Dalzell), his son Brian and his daughter Meghan. He also leaves behind his sisters Theresa Grant, Kathleen Grant and her husband Wayne Hayes, two brothers Joseph, and John and his wife Deborah. He was the son-in-law of Hugh Dalzell. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his sister Eugenia Scalese.
