Thomas Donald Nance passed away Thursday evening, October 13, 2016.
Don was born April 17, 1931, in Battle Creek, MI the son of late Thomas F. Nance and Mable (Robison) Johnson.
He was a decorated veteran serving in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War, and was a member of the Brotherhood of the Chosen Few. He worked for over 35 years in the trucking industry. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandson, Benjamin, and his special friend Buddy.
On June 23, 1956, he was united in marriage for 59 years to his loving wife Shirley, who preceded him in death on June 22, 2015.
He is survived by his children, Marcie Nance, Thomas Nance, Jr., Matthew Nance, Mark (Valerie) Nance, Chuck Carpenter; 9 grandchildren, Benjamin Brown, Joshua, Aaron, Cody, Andrew and Anna-Karin Nance, Matthew, Ben, and Stephen Carpenter; 1 great-grandchild, Lucas James Mortier-Nance; his “favorite” sister-in-law, Audrey Jenkins; and several nieces and nephews.
