Mulberry- Thomas Dewey “Tommy” Brooke, 89, passed away on Monday, November 17, 2014, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center from pneumonia. Born August 11, 1925, in Orlando, FL. Mr. Brooke was a resident of Nichols and Mulberry since the 1930’s.
Mr. Brooke was employed in the phosphate industry for over 40 years. When he retired from Mobil Chemical, he was a supervisor. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching the University of Florida Gators.
Mr. Brooke is survived by his wife of 68 years, Evelyn Strickland Brooke of Mulberry; his son, Gary Brooke of Bartow; his daughter, Cyndi Brooke Childress (Frank) of Lakeland; two granddaughters, Anastasia & Miranda Childress of Lakeland; step grandson, Alan Clark of Bartow; two sisters, Barbara Brooke Wright (Art) of Lakeland & Guilda Brooke Ray of Mulberry and many other family members.
