Thomas “Dale” Shelton, 85, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2022. He was surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband of the late Margie Shelton.

Dale was born on June 10, 1937 in Edinburgh, Indiana to the late Melvin and Daisy (Mathis) Shelton.

Dale was a fun-loving man who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He loved a good meal and a good laugh. He was quite the pool shark in his younger years.

Dale was employed at Jack Smart Ford as a mechanic for many years, eventually retiring from the State of Indiana, where he worked as a locksmith. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, and a member of the Indiana Free Masons for 49 years.

Dale is survived by three daughters, Dianna (Jim) Maschmeyer of Beech Grove, IN, Lisa (Gary) Rhoades of Trafalgar, IN, and Shelly (Dave) Meyer of Franklin, IN; four grandchildren, Jennifer “Sugar” Shortt, Sam Meyer, Lucy Meyer, and Doug Beadle; three great-grandchildren, Daelin Morton, Amiah (David) Phelps, and Deanna Morton; one great-great-grandchild, Noah Kelley; three brothers, Don (Marie) Shelton of Washington, IN, Junior (Candy) Shelton of Franklin, IN, and Jerry (Julie) Shelton of California; two sisters, Susie Crecilius of Greenwood, IN and Betty (Donald) Ziemer of Florida; a sister-in-law, Hazel Shelton, and several nieces and nephews.

Dale was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Shelton; his parents, Melvin and Daisy Shelton; three brothers, Norman Shelton, Bobby Shelton, and Denny Shelton, and a brother-in-law, Charlie Crecilius.

If Dale were here, his final message would be “BE GOOD LIKE ME!”
