Thomas D. “Tom” Neal Jr., 92, of Elkhart, passed away Monday, March 4, 2013, at Elkhart Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born April 17, 1920, in Danville, Ill., to Thomas Sr. and Stella J. (Freese) Neal.

On July 20, 1957, he married his wife of 55 years, Sue (Marilyn) Wagner, in St. Louis, Mich. She survives at home.

In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters, Sally (Albert) Rowe and Susan (Mitch) Anderson; and two grandchildren, Benjamin and Catelyn Anderson, all of Elkhart; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.

Tom served in the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II in the European Theater. He later was employed in sales in the mobile home/RV industry for several years prior to his retirement.

He was a member of VFW Post 1454 in Alma, Mich., the P-38 National Association and DAV Chapter 19 in Elkhart.
