Throughout life’s journey, there are people who brighten our days and make us better along the way. Tommy Lawrence was exactly “that guy!” He was charismatic with an intoxicating sense of humor. He was ever the jokester and always ready with an appropriate movie quote. On Monday January 28th, 2019, at 37, Jesus called him home to Paradise in Heaven from his earthly home in Burlington, NJ.
Tommy’s journey began on Christmas Eve, 1981 in Somerville, NJ. He spent his early years in Ewing, NJ where he attended Incarnation School and graduated from Notre Dame High School in Lawrenceville, class of 2000. Tommy completed his education, graduating from Rider University with a B.S., class of 2004. He worked as a web designer for the State of New Jersey Department of Transportation and was the Chairman of the Employee Memorial Committee. Tommy’s responsibility was to arrange memorials for former state employees where he went above and beyond.
Tommy loved to be in the company of others. He was always alongside his Dad at Giants games and with family over the holidays, especially his annual 4th of July barbecue. He was an advocate and voice of reassurance to patients and doctors about his experiences reminding us all to “live like tomorrow will never come.” Tommy was an amazing father and never missed any of his daughter’s gymnastic meets.
He always loved a game of softball or a good game of cornhole. He played and was a member of the South Jersey Cornhole League before launching and overseeing his own South Central Jersey Corn Hole League, in Burlington, NJ. Tommy leaves behind his loving wife Courtney (Weed) and daughter Gianna. Tommy is the son of Thomas & Kathleen (Guido) Lawrence and brother of Susan & Brad Sabo and Kimberly & Carlo Procaccini. He is survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other family and friends who loved him and will miss him dearly.
