As a teenager, he was an active participant in FFA and spent many summers exhibiting Guernsey cattle at the West Virginia State Fair and the West Virginia State Dairy Show. Tom graduated from Lewis County High School in 1975, where he excelled in both academics and in the sport of basketball. Tom excelled while working at Mellon Bank and held numerous positions. In 1989, he was offered a position at the Union National Bank, later known as BankOne, in Clarksburg. Because of their desire to move closer to their family, Tom accepted the position, and the Davisson family moved back to the area. During his tenure at BankOne, he served as a State Senior Vice President. Tom remained with BankOne until June 1997 when he accepted a position as the Chief Financial Officer of Medbrook Medical Associates in Bridgeport. In 2004, he returned to banking as a Senior Credit Officer and Executive Vice President with WesBanco Bank, where he retired in July 2013.

He was actively involved with the Clarksburg Rotary Club and received multiple Paul Harris Fellow recognitions for his contributions to The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International. Tom was also a past member of the Board of Directors of The Harrison County Bank. He was a lifetime member of the American Quarter Horse Association.
Tom truly enjoyed his life. He loved spending time with his family, especially supporting his children’s passions of swimming and showing horses. He enjoyed collecting antiques and stone jars. Tom also loved traveling with his wife and family, especially to Ocean Isle Beach each year. Tom enjoyed hunting and his hunting trips with his father in North Carolina and with his brother-in-laws in Colorado. Tom was an avid West Virginia University and West Virginia Wesleyan College fan. Unlike most, he enjoyed yard work, especially mowing his lawn and picking up sticks. Tom enjoyed woodworking like his father. He also enjoyed many of his one-word conversations with his infant grandson.
Possessed of a gentle and giving personality, Tom leaves many friends in the community. Always a good listener, Tom provided sound advice to many individuals, young and old.
