Thomas C. Korkos Sr, 78, of Sawyer, Michigan died Saturday afternoon, May 3, 2014 in St. Joseph, Michigan surrounded by his loved ones. Tom was born December 29, 1935 in Hammond, Indiana. After high school he continued his education at the University of Chicago and then at Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan.
Tom enjoyed reading and loved sailing. He was a member of the Michigan City Yacht Club. Tom liked to spend time sitting on the beach, especially at Cherry Beach. He also enjoyed watching the sailboats on Lake Michigan. Tom’s constant companion these last years was his Great Dane, “Puppy”.
Survivors include his son, Thomas C. (Caroline) Korkos Jr of Rochester, Indiana; daughter, Merle (Jeffery) Reitz of Sawyer; grandchildren Hayden, Harrison, Ralph, Samantha and Joseph; great grandchildren, Ethen, Stephanie, Isabella and Riley and his brother Alvin (Eleanor) Korkos of Monticello, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Fredianelli, step father Paul Fredianelli and his sister Dolores Mazur.
