Thomas C. Kelly, 87, of Havana, Florida, peacefully passed away on Monday, September 5, 2016.
A son of Thomas L. and Mary Kathleen Hefflin Kelly, of blessed memory, he was born October 11, 1928, in Key West. Sarah Lowe Kelly, his wife of 59 years, preceded him in death in 2013. He is also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ellen Kelly. He was employed and retired after 35 years from the City Electric System in Key West, starting out as a meter reader and retiring as Manager. Following retirement, he became an avid woodcarver and enjoyed making furniture. Gardening, photography, camping, the outdoors, as well as being a self-taught house builder were other hobbies he took great pleasure in. He served in the United States Naval Reserve and was a faithful member of Chapel Hill Baptist Church. He is survived by his children, David (Angela) Kelly, Haywood (Debra) Kelly, Conway (Michelle) Kelly, and Lance (Bonnie) Kelly; eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, never having met a stranger.
