Thomas Burak of Elkhart passed away at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne on Sunday, Oct. 31, 2010, at 9:47 a.m. of natural causes. He was 84.
He was born in Buchach, Ukraine, on June 15, 1926, to Jacob and Maria (Chaykovska) Burak. He married Tatiana Below in Germany in 1949. She passed away in Elkhart in 2005.
Surviving are three daughters, Aksana (Joseph) Cataldo and Oli (Leonard) Konkle, both of Elkhart, and Lili (Max) Holmes of White Pigeon, Mich.; a brother, Peter Bourak of Beamsville, Ontario, Canada; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
His wife, Tatiana, and a sister, Antonina Trach, preceded Thomas in death.
