Thomas was born in Kearny and was a life long resident. He was employed by the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey as an engineer on the PATH Train system for 15 years. He retired 5 years ago. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Mr. Bachler is survived by his father Harry and his companion Catherine Mills and his sister Kathleen Rothberg and her husband Bruce. He was the brother-in-law of Hedwig Bachler. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his brother Harry J. Bachler “Buddy” and his mother Kathleen (Rooney)
