Mr. Thomas Averitte was born on June 19, 1941 in Coosa County. Mr. Thomas was the fifth child born to the late Alvin and Louise Averitte.
He attended Phyllis Wheatley High School where he graduated in 1962. He worked many years at the marble quarry as a mill wright.
Mr. Thomas met and married his wife the late Virginia Mae Averitte in 1965. To this union they were blessed with five children.
He was preceded in death by his wife Virginia, son, Ricky Joe Averitte, daughter, Teresa Averitte, grandson, Spencer, granddaughter, Taylor, sister, Georgia, brothers, Preston, Johnnie, and Leon.
On January 2, 2020 Mr. Averitte departed this walk of life at Coosa Valley Medical Center, Sylacauga, AL.
Mr. Averitte leaves to cherish his memories two sons, Thomas L. (Cassandra) Averitte and Gregory (Michelle) Averitte; one daughter, Michelle (Ken) Averitte-Garner; eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; one sister Lula Cook; one brother, Earnest Averitte; and a host of other relatives and friends.
