In the quiet hours of the early morning of January 26, 2020 Thomas Aubry Couch lay in a peaceful slumber. His whispered breaths suddenly ceased, and God gave him the greatest gift of all as He welcomed Tom into life eternal in heaven. While there was so much love for him in this world, it could hardly compare to the love of the Father for his good and faithful servant, Tom. Life for Tom began in the small village of Arnco in Coweta County, GA. He was the son of the late Andrew and Mary Artie Harris Couch. Tom’s dedication to his country bears witness to his 12 years serving in The United States Coast Guard. His working career was spent as a forklift mechanic. True to the calling of his service in the Coast Guard, he was fascinated by lighthouses and even lived in a couple during his lifetime. As a mechanic by profession, it was natural that he would come to follow the drivers and cars of the NASCAR sport. Win, lose or draw, he was a staunch believer in his Atlanta Braves. When it came to cars, he was an unequivocal diehard Chevy man.

Tom is survived by his dedicated wife Martha Everett Couch. His sons are Rick Couch of LaGrange, Joe Goins of Lawrenceville, Jim Bible of Newnan, John Vandaveer of Savannah. Surviving daughters include Jennifer Goins of Sharpsburg and Arlene Passwater of Maryland. There are grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Elizabeth Sussman of Mableton and a brother, Ken Couch of Atlanta.
