Thomas Allison Lancaster, 85, of Whiteland, Indiana, passed away at his residence on Saturday, April 10, 2021. He was born on January 12, 1936 in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Charles & Dora (Allison) Lancaster. Thomas was employed at General Motors and worked the assembly line for 25 years until his retirement in 1989.
Thomas was a sports fan at heart. He always rooted for the Indianapolis Colts, his favorite football team, and loved to watch college athletics, especially when IU was playing. He enjoyed walking and playing basketball at the park and had a talent for coaching. He coached basketball at a youth center, basketball and baseball at Holy Cross, and was the coach for his son’s baseball team, the Eastside Little League, and the Brookside Little League. Thomas will be remembered as a mentor by many and as a wonderful grandfather who treasured every moment he could spend with his grandkids. He will be dearly missed.
Thomas is survived by his two children, Kenneth Lancaster of Indianapolis, Indiana and Stacy (Darcy) Dorn of Whiteland, Indiana; his five grandchildren, Kristen Koziel, Leana Lancaster, Allison Dorn, Lindon Dorn, and Carson Dorn; his three great-grandchildren, Joseph Koziel, Elijah Lynch, and Mason Lancaster; his three sisters, Sandy Silverman of California, Jonna Lancaster and Lisa Lancaster, both of Ohio; his brother, Charlie Lancaster of Ohio.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Charles & Dora, and his sisters, Donna Cantrell and Judy Lancaster.
