Thomas Allan Schweickert, 72, a resident of the Illinois Veterans Home in LaSalle, formerly of Peru, passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2018. Mr. Schweickert was born on April 24, 1946 in LaSalle to Cletus and Marie (Przygoda) Schweickert.
Thomas was a graduate of LaSalle-Peru High School, class of 1965, and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1968. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Peru and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include nine brothers and sisters, Jeanette (Wayne) Gibson of Sylvania, OH, Lorrayne (Hank) Vaughn of Hinsdale, George (Shirley) Schweickert of LaSalle, Lois (Ken) Thomas of Chicago, Judith (Allan) Gorgal of Moline, Carol (Ben) Clay of Fort Wayne, IN, David (Jackie) Schweickert of Peru, Richard Schweickert of Peru and Michael (Nadine) Schweickert of Oglesby.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Mary Lou Mazzorana and JoAnn Kelly, and three brothers, Cletus, Robert, and Ronald Schweickert.
