The self-proclaimed Mayor of Clyde, Colorado was Born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Clifton Lee Black and Nellie Leigh Leetham. He attended Judge Memorial High School in Salt Lake City and met Celeste, the love of his life when they were teenagers, and they celebrated 66 years of marriage this year. He lived in Colorado Springs most of his life, loved the family cabin in Clyde, Colorado, and spent many years in Dunedin, Fl.

His was preceded in death by his parents, sons Tommy Black and Darrell Black, and siblings Coral Wood, Virginia Godfrey, and Clifton Black.
He is survived by his loving wife, Celeste Black and his children Cindi Black, Coral (Curt) Dickenson, Steven (Lori) Black, Annette (Kevin) Craft, Tanya Black, and Clifton (Sheila) Black. He has 19 grandchildren, Angie (Sean) Tucker, Karen Green, Greg (Jamie) Masherino, Jessica (Scott) Butler, Celeste (Ian) Oswald, Lucas Chepan, Bailey Black, Morgan Black (Garret Adams), Elizabeth (Mark) Dorsey, Leslie (Jason) Lynch, James (Yvette) Craft, Tyler Craft, Trevor Craft, Justin Black, Leah Buchko, Brandon Black, Justin Black, Aaron Black and Hailey Black; 26 great grandchildren, Bradley, Dustin, Eric, Elizabeth, Emily, Tyler, Ashley, Bella, Gavi, Phoenix, Veda, Hunter, Maverick, Spencer, Emily, Julianna, Olivia, Jordan, Jaxon, Jayden, Layla, Jacob, Ethan, Eric, Kailyn and Ryan.
