Theron H. Lyons, of Bristol, died on February 18, 2010.  He was born on September 12, 1923 on East Main Street, Forestville, son of the late Earl W. and Sarah (Woods) Lyons.  He was predeceased by his wife of sixty three years, Lorena (Quinion) Lyons.  Theron started his schooling at Green Hills School, making half way thru the first grade before his parents moved to Plainville in 1929.  He finished  the first grade thru the sixth grade at Broad Street Elementary School, continuing on to Linden Street School for the seventh and eighth grade and finishing up at the old Plainville High School, graduating in 1940.  After graduation, Theron was employed by the Fafnir Bearing Company in New Britain.  He started out as a stock keeper and was promoted to the production office.  At this point in his life, he was called to serve his country in World War II.  He served two years in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a nose turret gunner on a B-24 Bomber, flying over twenty missions in the Pacific Arena.  After serving his country, he returned to Fafnir Bearing and was promoted to a purchasing agent for buying all the paper goods and packaging material.  He did this until his early retirement in December of 1982, ending his forty one years of employment with Fafnir Bearing.  Theron is survived by his daughter, Elnora J. and her husband, Edward Nickelson and their children, Heather and Paul, and a great grandson, Tyler, all of Sarasota Springs, NY; his son, Mark S. and his wife, Sharon Lyons of Terryville and their children, Mark A. Lyons of Bristol, Jenny and her husband, Jason Tautic of Bristol, and Kimberly and her husband, Jared Fortin of Terryville; several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his sister, Theresa Ptoloney and his five brothers, Melvin, Richard, Vincent, Sterling, and Armond Lyons.
