Theresa “Terry” Sopjes, age 90, went home to be with her Lord on March 19, 2017. Terry was born May 5, 1926, in Kalamazoo, the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Doff) Post. She was the first infant baptized and a lifelong member of the Grace Christian Reformed Church, where she was active with the Ora et Labora and Dorcas Societies.
Terry enjoyed meeting and greeting others and was always found with a smile on her face. The most important part of her life was the love of her family and caring for her children and grandchildren, and spending special times with them. On December 10, 1946, she was united in marriage with Henry G. Sopjes who preceded her in death on February 21, 2008.
She was also preceded by her parents and siblings: Henry, Jane, Art, Fred and Neil Post, and Daisy DeKruyter; and a great-grandson Benjamin Henry Bosscher. Surviving are a daughter and son, Joan (Jack) Bosscher of Grandville and Jim (Diane) Sopjes of Portage; grandchildren, Michael (Krista) Bosscher, Steven (Lynn) Bosscher, Beth, Mark and Scott Sopjes; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Sophia, Ella, Avery, and Zoe Bosscher, Zayden and Isaak Mitchell. She will also be fondly remembered by nieces, nephews, friends and her special Park Village Pines friends.
