Theresa Fresa Beermuender, 76, of 22 Russell St., Branford passed away April 5, 2011 in Branford Hills Health Care Center surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of George K. Beermuender. Mrs. Beermuender was born in Naples, Italy on April 2, 1935, daughter of the late Gennaro and Assunta Pirone Fresa. She came to this country as a young girl and made her home in Branford. She was a stay at home wife and mom who was devoted to her family and her grandchildren in particular. She enjoyed vacations with her family in the White Mountains of New Hampshire and was an avid Yankee fan. She was loved and pampered by her husband of 53 years. The family would like to thank the Staff at Yale New Haven Hospital and Smilow Cancer Center, particularly Mary, Jeffrey, Bonnie, Natalie & Janet; the staff at Branford Hills including Charyn and Lena on Ledgewood 3; as well as family members who showed great love and support during her recent fight with lung cancer. Besides her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Lori (Steven) Vogt of North Branford; two sons, George (Victoria) Beermuender of North Branford and Ronald Beermuender of Pensacola, FL.; a brother, Carmine (Marie) Fresa of Branford; two sisters, Nunzia Cervone and Maria Cantore, both of Naples, Italy; two grandchildren, Miranda and Jordan Vogt and several nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Tina Cavallaro and three brothers, Joseph, Vito and Anthony Fresa.
