Theodore Henderson “Ted” Forbes, Jr., 91, of Greensburg, formerly of Downingtown, died Thursday, October 13, 2022, in Redstone Highlands, Greensburg. He was born April 19, 1931, in Ridley Park, a son of the late Theodore Henderson Forbes, Sr. and Frances Lewis Forbes. He was a member and deacon of Doe Run Presbyterian Church. He was a graduate of West Chester State College and received his Master of Education from Temple University. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Coatesville Area Schools as a principal and math teacher. Ted was a lifelong and avid Phillies fan. He enjoyed travelling and spending time with his family. He also was a member of Four Chaplains Legion of Honor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Lisa Forbes. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Ruth Hope Thompson Forbes; 5 children, Stephen Theodore Forbes, David Bruce Forbes (Rhonda), Sharon Lee Elkettani (Dana Ferry), Patricia Diane Pearce (Jeff) and Jennifer Hope Forbes (Chris Restifo); 14 much-loved grandchildren and 10 cherished great grandchildren. Most of all, he loved his wife.
