Ted Luttmer, age 58, went to his heavenly home on Saturday, June 20, 2020 surrounded by his loving family.
Ted was born July 10, 1961 to Gerhard and Janet Luttmer in Salt Lake City, Utah. In 1964 the family moved to a farm in Hagerman, Idaho where Ted grew up and learned to care for animals, farming and life in general. Growing up on the farm with his siblings, he learned to work hard and play even harder!
He was just a little bit of a daredevil! He loved fishing, hunting, fast cars, motorcycles and hard rock-n-roll. After graduating from Wendell High School in 1980 he ventured into the sport of motocross racing and won several events.
On May 3, 1986 he married Margaret Vulk and later divorced. During this union Ted was blessed with his daughter – Heather and son – Justin.
He worked as a herdsman on a couple different dairies in the area with the last one being Sudik Dairy.
In August 2003 Ted’s life drastically changed when he was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor. Although he was expected to live for only one to five years, his strong will and fighting spirit, along with God’s blessing, allowed him to stay with us for an amazing seventeen years. During this time, he was loved and cared for by his father and mother.
Ted and his mischievous smile will be missed greatly by his family, friends and all that knew him.
He is survived by: his mother – Janet Luttmer of Wendell, Idaho; his daughter – Heather Hanrahan of Caldwell, Idaho; his son – Justin Luttmer of Kuna, Idaho; his brothers – Gerhard (Lori) Luttmer of Hagerman, Idaho, Scott (Sandi) Luttmer of Hagerman, Idaho, Steve (Kandie) Luttmer of Jerome, Idaho; his sisters – Connie (Larry) Scarrow of Jerome, Idaho, Tina (Trent) Siler of Twin Falls, Idaho; his grandchildren – Ava, Joshua, Conner and Logan as well as many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by: his father – Gerhard Luttmer; and his grandparents – Theodore and Olive Gardner and Johan and Roelfje Luttmer.
