Remembering Our Loving Brother Theodore Terrence Booker, Jr., known by most as “Hank”, was born in South Bend to Theodore and Zelma Booker on January 27, 1960. His homegoing was on June 30, 2022.

Hank was a bright and energetic youngster and a quick learner. He loved performing acrobatic stunts and playing the drums. In fact, at the age of 10, he performed on live TV after training under the legendary drummer, Billy “Sticks” Nicks.

Hank attended and graduated from Riley High School in South Bend and, after a year in Atlanta, he worked for Attwood Factory in Elkhart and later joined Tenneco Corporation, where he received his 10-year recognition in March of this year. His supervisor gave Hank high praise for his near perfect attendance and quality of work. Hank enjoyed biking and was a long-distance rider. He also enjoyed racing large scale remote-controlled cars, some of which he built from scratch, reflecting his excellent technical skills.

Hank is survived by his sisters; Ramona (Marco) Kyle of South Bend, Vel (Joe) Woods of University Heights, OH, his brother, Dean (Kaahania) McElroy of Detroit, MI; nieces Ashley Kyle of South Bend, Chalice Woods of Garfield Heights, OH, nephew Marco (Yolanda) Kyle of San Antonio, TX; aunt Bernice Thomas of South Bend, nephews Kahron and Kolton Kyle, LeKeith, King and Symore (Lloyd) of South Bend.

The family would like to offer thanks to the neurology staff at St. Joseph Hospital, led by Dr. Anitha Rao; and the staff of the Hospice Center of Mishawaka, IN, and Allen Sullivan of Tenneco Corp. Also, our many thanks to family members Ada (James) Fuller and Mary Jones and a special thanks to Joe Woods for his endless caring support.

Hank, Theodore, Theo. We will miss you and you will be in our hearts forever.
