Thelma R. (Spriggs) Scales, 82, passed away Monday Jan. 7, 2013 in Indianapolis. She was a resident of Whiteland. Thelma was born April 23, 1930 in Indianapolis to Cecil and Ruby (Waterman) Spriggs. She was a beautician for 20 years. She was a member of the Whiteland Church of Christ. Thelma enjoyed traveling, antiques and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include two children, Dan (Debra) Scales and Lavana (Ed) Tichenor both of Whiteland, five grandchildren, Lara (Josh) Rogers, Ryan (Jenny) Scales, Seth, Jordan and Chase Tichenor and two great-grandchildren, Elliott and Eleanor Rogers. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Maurice L. Scales, sister, Frieda Mae Spriggs and brother, Edward Spriggs.
