She married Raymond Shafer January 9, 1939. He died January 21, 2004.
Thelma owned The Card Shoppe in River Grove, Illinois.
Surviving are her daughters, Dawn (Lynn) Wilson of Freeport, Pam Spalding of St. Mary’s, Georgia, and Julie (Thomas) Enno of Streamwood, Illinois; 1 son, Raymond (Eileen) Shafer of St. Charles, Illinois; 9 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son-in-law, Bill Spalding.
