Thelma Nina Phillips (Granny) 85, passed away on September 23, 2014 in Berryville, AR. Thelma was born to Roy and Elizabeth (Miller) Walker on February 25, 1929 at Metalton, AR. She loved her heavenly Father and was deeply committed to her Christian faith. On July 29, 1944 she was married to Vernon Cleo Phillips at Rudd, AR who survives her. In her younger years Thelma enjoyed cooking for family and friends. Summertime would find her and Cleo canning and freezing produce from their garden. You rarely left her home emptied handed without a sampling of her cooking. She always enjoyed the coming of Spring and the blooming of the Red Bud Trees. She is survived by her husband of seventy years, daughters, Yvonne Smith and husband Ulys Kay of Berryville, Joyce Cameron and husband Robert of Springfield, MO, one son, Ronald Gene Phillips and wife Jacque of Berryville, five grandchildren: Kevin Smith and wife Natalie, Ryan Cameron, Sarah Oliver, Ronnel Jeppsen and husband Matt, Jared Phillips and wife Natasha, seven great-grandchildren: Corey Smith and wife Kristy, Jeanessa and J.D. Smith, Sean Jeppsen, Jarika, Brooke and Madisyn Phillips as well as one great-great grandson, Peyton Smith. Thelma is also survived by one sister, Wilma Avery and one brother, Keith Walker and wife Bonnie and many nieces, nephews, loved ones and friends. She is preceded in death by her son, Donald Lee Phillips, four sisters and two brothers.
