Thelma Marie (Peterson) Youngs, 86, of Rockfall, wife of the late Lauren F. Youngs, passed away on Sunday, November 8th at McLean Care in Simsbury. Born in Mount Vernon, NY, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Harry and Florence (Loven) Peterson. Thelma graduated Portland High School, received a Bachelor’s Degree from Upsala College where she was a campus nurse Jr. and Sr. year, a Nursing Degree from Hartford Hospital School of Nursing in 1952, and a Masters Degree from Central Connecticut State University in 1986. Thelma worked at Mount Clair Hospital in New Jersey, at the Wesleyan Infirmary, private duty nurse for Miss Bliss, and was an instructor at Ona M. Wilcox School of Nursing.
