Thelma Hall of Y-City, Arkansas passed from this life Sunday, November 20,2016 at a Fort Smith hospital surrounded by her loving family. Thelma was born March 15, 1943 in Y-City, Arkansas to Wilburn and Janie (Scott) Rogers. Thelma was 73 years old.
On June 16, 1960, Thelma married the love of her life, Jerry Hall. Together they built a life on Mill Creek where they raised two daughters, Brenda Charlson and Linda Stuart, and one son, Mike Hall. Thelma retired from Waldron School District where she served as a cook and bus driver.
Thelma was given many endearing names over the years by her grand and great grand children including “Granny,” “Gran-Gran,”and “Granny Grunkus.” Granny loved spending time with her family. Few things brought her more joy or smiles than her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her favorite thing to do besides spending time with her family was camping on beautiful Lake Ouachita and trolling for big, slab crappie with Paw- Paw. She also enjoyed working in her yard, reading, crocheting, and reminiscing with family and friends.
Thelma leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 56 years, Jerry of the home, two daughters, Brenda Charlson and husband Dale of Waldron, Linda Stuart and husband Harvey of Y-City, and one son Mike Hall and wife Nikki of Y-City, one brother JT Rogers of Y-City and a host of nieces and nephews. Granny will forever remain in the hearts of her eleven grand children and twenty two great-grandchildren. Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, Wilburn and Janie (Scott) Rogers, four brothers, Bud, Donnie, “Dump”, and Rod, and three sisters Ruth, Mary and Bonnie, and her precious great-grandson, Marek Irvin.
