Thelma C. Gabriel, 97, a lifelong resident of Orange, passed away with peace and grace on April 27, at the Ashlar Village retirement community in Wallingford. Thelma was a graduate of Quinnipiac university. Her various roles in education and business culminated with her position as registrar of the Culinary Institute of America, in Hyde Park, NY. Thelma was born on January 20th 1920, the daughter of Andrew and Marie Christensen. She was predeceased by husband Jack Gabriel, and previous husbands Carl Peterson and Wallace Bell. Thelma is survived by her children Bradford Bell of Waterbury, Conn., Susan Brown and her husband Edward of Moultonborough, N.H., Craig Bell of Sherman, Conn., and David Bell and his wife Barbara of North Haven, Conn., and seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
