Thelma Geneva Forsyth, 92, of Ft. Myers, Florida and a former resident of Bloomington, Indiana, passed away July 17, 2018 in Ft. Myers. Thelma was born in Bloomington, Indiana on July 4, 1926, the daughter of Ira and Rachel (Deckard) Bales.

Thelma was a graduate of St. Catherine School of Nursing and was a registered nurse at Bloomington Hospital, serving in the emergency room and surgery. After retirement from Bloomington Hospital she worked at Drs. Geiger, Sibbitt, White and Pugh and for Dr. Paul W. Holtzman, all in Bloomington. After moving to Florida, she worked for Lee County Schools and the Naples/Ft. Myers Greyhound Dog Track as a nurse.

Thelma was a member of First Christian Church in Bloomington, Tri Kappa Philanthropic Sorority and the RN Club.

Survivors include 3 sons, Larry (Pam) Forsyth of Ft. Myers, Florida, Mark (Kim) Forsyth of Delray Beach, Florida and Tom (Debbie) Forsyth of Jupiter, Florida; 1 daughter, Linda (Troy) Wilbur of Bloomington, Indiana; 3 grandchildren, Rusty (Rebecca) Forsyth, Lauren (Mary) Fonseca and Rachel (Rob) Carlyle.

Thelma was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Russell E. Forsyth on April 23, 2001 and 2 brothers, William and Walter Bales.
