Thelma Darlene Rickett King, 92, of Flemingsburg, passed away Friday, April 3, 2015, at Pioneer Trace Nursing Home in Flemingsburg.
Mrs. King was born February 17, 1923, in Lewis County, the daughter of the late Plez and Eva Young Cooper.
Thelma was a loving mother and grandmother, raising her children plus two others and a young man from the community that she took in with her loving care. She enjoyed cooking for her family and attending the Wallingford Community Church where she was a member.
Thelma is survived by her daughters, Shirley (H.E.) Gray, Carolyn (Don) King, Marlene (Gary) Ashcraft, Rennie (Rick Parker) Harris; grandchildren Melissa (Robbie) Miller, Deanna (Ricky) Pollitt, Amanda (Greg) Applegate, John (Jennifer) Harris, Rodney (Missy) Switzer and Lashawna Switzer; step grandchildren Shelia Bolar, Vanessa Applegate, Kendrick Applegate and Gary Wayne Ashcraft; great grandchildren Johnathon Farris, Ryan Miller, Trey Parker, Ricky Pollitt, Waylen Pollitt, Katie Pollitt, Logan Tucker, Justin Harris, Jacob Harris, Cody Timmins, Dylan Harris, Wyantt Harris, Tyler Switzer and Devin Switzer; great great granddaughter Leah Miller; 3 brothers Wilford Cooper, Alford Cooper and Gene Cooper; sister Doris Linville.
Thelma was preceded in death by her husband’s John Rickett and Elmer King; children Tony Rickett and Debbie Rickett; grandson Todd Burriss; siblings Cecil Cooper and Douglas Cooper.
