Thelma Christian was born June 1, 1923 in Decatur, AL to the late Rufus and Lillian Robinson. She confessed hope in Christ at an early age and joined Garner Memorial C.M.E. Church in Decatur, AL, where she worked faithfully until her health failed. She was a member of the Stewardess Board and President of the Usher Board for many, many years.
She leaves to cherish her memories a devoted husband of sixty-eight years, Mr. William Christian; one son, Alphonso Robinson (Shirley) Boston, MA; one step-daughter, Barbara A. Sanders (Ollie) Tuscumbia, AL; seven grandchildren, Shirley Garth of Montgomery, AL, Shawn Robinson, Robin Robinson, Renalda Chambers, Velda Chambers, all of Boston, MA, Rita A. Miller of Tuscumbia, AL, Franklin D. Miller of Atlanta, GA; one brother, Lewis Robinson (Valentine) of Cleveland, OH; six sisters, Lois Pickett, Maggie Love and Catherine Davis, all of Decatur, Evelina Brown (Jimmy), Hawthorne, CA, Sarah Hinton, Huntsville, AL, Colonel (Retired) Mary Cotton, Burke, VA; a devoted nephew, Lester Fletcher of Decatur, AL, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
