Tharen “Bud” McLeighton
Tharen “Bud” McLeighton, our loving dad, husband, grandpa, brother and friend, passed Sunday, May 29, 2016 from complications of Alzheimers.
Born in Baxley, Georgia February 23, 1934 to Duncan and Iris McLeighton. He was raised with one brother, Robert.
As a teenager he ran moonshine with the best competition around. He began working for Ford Motor Co. before joining the Air Force and being deployed to Okinawa, Japan. Later he was stationed at HAFB and met his first wife, Donna Rhoda Hayes and married September 5, 1957. Together they raised Ronald, Glenda, Shonna (Steve), Kathy and had one child together, Mike (DeAnn). Donna passed away March 13, 1976. He soon met his second wife, Lois and they married October 8, 1976. He extended his family and welcomed Annette, Richard and Caroline (Jerry) into his heart. He also helped open Ogden Chrome Plating where he worked for 49 years, and also had many other business adventures.
He enjoyed traveling, making walking sticks, working on hot rods and hoped to be mayor of 25th street.
He will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by many but survived by many more who loved him.
