G. Thain Hannaford, resident of Azusa for 60 years has went to be with the Lord on June 10, 2014 at the age of 88. Born in Pasadena, son of Samuel and Jessie Hannaford. He attended high school in Pasadena and went on to attend John Muir College and Pasadena City College where where his love for photography flourished. Thain was a World War II Navy Veteran. He was married to Doris J. Hannaford who he spent 55 wonderful years before she passed away in December 2005. He dedicated his life to making the community of Azusa a better place by volunteering his time to many organizations. He was involved in the community as a swim coach for the Azusa Sailfish Swim Team, a booster for the Azusa High School Band and Drill Team, a member of Azusa Civitans and a past Honorary Citizen of Azusa.
