Theodore “Ted” Kabala, 96 of Chicago passed away February 27, 2015 at Golden Years Retirement Home in Lyons, IL. He was born July 22, 1918 in Marquerite, Pennsylvania, son of Joseph and Victoria (Stasik) Kabala.

He never married. Mr. Kabala is survived by his sister, Lorrie Kabala of Northridge, CA; two nieces: Judith Beadle and husband Ronnie of Centralia and Vickie Joette Stewart and husband Darrell of Mellorne, FL; one great niece, Rhonda Wright and husband Darren of Centralia; a great nephew, Jeremy Stewart; two great-great nephews: Nicholas and Matthew Wright both of Centralia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Ed Kabala and his wife Margie, and a great nephew, Danny Beadle. The family moved from Pennsylvania to Chicago and then to Centralia when he and his brother were young boys. He went to school here in Centralia until he joined the Army in WWII.

He enlisted December 6, 1941 to November 30, 1945. He was a Staff Sergeant Squadron G 1503rd AAF Base Radio Operator Mechanic. He received Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon with 3 bronze stars. Mr. Kabala moved to Chicago when he was discharged from the Army. He went to work at the downtown Chicago United Post Office and he also drove a taxi-cab at night.
