Terry W Gloeckner Sr.

“It is not how he died, but how did he live!!”

Former Lompoc resident Terry W. Gloeckner Sr., 72, passed peacefully with family by his side on June 23, 2017 in Emmett, Idaho.

He was born September 22, 1944 to William and Mildred Gloeckner in Clarksburg, WV.

He attended Notre Dame High School where he played football and baseball. After graduating with the class of 1962, he entered the US Air Force and was stationed at Vandenberg Air Force Base. While at Vandenburg, he attended Allan Hancock College and received an AS degree.

Terry’s life would seem too short to many, but those who were privileged to know him understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quality of time in which one lives. His priority was providing a life full of love, happiness , Christian values and financial security for his family. Working at GREFCO and in Aerospace industry helped him to fulfill these goals. He retired from Lockheed Martin in October 2007.

The love of travel saw him discovering the USA, Mexico, Jamaica, and then he crossed Bora Bora off his bucket list with his vacation there in 2015.

Family and friends will always remember his keen wit and sense of humor, especially his, “I don’t get mad, I get even” events.

There are many out there that considered Terry their father figure. They respected him for his wisdom and advice. Terry was a firm believer that actions speak louder than words and he mentored many young people by his example.

He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Helen; his children Terry (Erika) of Lake Havasu, AZ, Brenda Villa of Lompoc, William (Lindsay) Gloeckner of Emmett, Idaho and Edward (Nicole) Ryglewicz of Texas.

Also missing him will be his sister, Diana (Jeff) Transue of Lakewood, CA and brother Robert (Lucia) Gloeckner of Catherdral City, CA; Brother and Sister in laws, Raymond (Mary Sue) Beaulieu, Linda Velazquez, Oscar (Jamie) Beaulieu, Paul Beaulieu, (Ann) and Theresa (Carlos) Higson.

He was reunited in heaven with his parents, William and Mildred Gloeckner; his son, Raymond Gloeckner and his brother, Richard Gloeckner.

Also missing his love, kisses, hugs and devotion will be his numerous nieces and nephews.

Being a loving and compassionate family man, the family wishes in his memory that you spend time with your children, take a walk on the beach with your loved ones and make a toast to enduring friendship lifelong and beyond.
