Terry Boyd Van Rees, 75, formerly of Reasnor, died on Monday, November 15, 2021, at Accura Healthcare of Newton East.
Terry, the son of Boyd and Alice (Worthington) Van Rees, was born on March 30, 1946, in Moline, Illinois. He grew up between Illinois and Iowa. On December 24, 1965, Terry was united in marriage with Carol Simmons. They lived for a short time in California before moving to Reasnor in 1968. Terry worked as a welder at the Parsons Company. He loved working with his hands including working on cars and motorcycles and doing electrical and plumbing work. He also liked to fish, play guitar, and sing. Terry and Carol had bred AK registered Dobermans and loved animals.
Terry is survived by his children, Henry (Angela) Van Rees of Reasnor, Doug Van Rees of Newton, and Rose Van Rees of Newton; grandchildren, Brad Shook, Tommy Shook, Samantha Van Rees, and Lane Van Rees; his nine great-grandchildren and two more on the way very soon; and sister, Claudia Sheree Hood of Carlisle. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Carol Van Rees.
