Terry Linn Davis, 70, passed away Monday, March 7, 2022. Burial will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Des Moines, Iowa Sunday March 13, 2022 at 11:00 am.
Terry was born December 18, 1951, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Maynard and Louise (Heck) Davis. He married Debra Bickford Davis on June 7, 1980 at their family home.
Terry worked as a Superintendent for Carpenters Local 106. He was also in the Labors Union 177. Terry worked in construction for 40 years, retiring in 2004.
He loved to be outdoors, pittling with old cars and enjoyed racing stock cars at the Des Moines Fair Grounds with his family. Terry and Debra loved to spend time golfing with Jane and Dave at Shady Oaks. He loved to go boating and jet skiing at Lake Red Rock.
Terry loved football especially the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Kansas City Chiefs. He loved to watch Nascar, and was a huge fan of Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Jr.
The couple enjoyed traveling with Jane and Dave to Arizona and multiple other states. Recently Terry and Debra visited Maquoketa Caves. They went sight seeing and walked for many hours all to get lost, but eventually finding their way out.
Terry loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much. He would also tell you; he was a huge proud momma’s boy.
Terry is survived by his wife, Debra Davis, daughter, Lori (Doug) Johnson of Saint Charles, IA; two sons, Terry (Brandie) Davis Jr. of Grimes, IA, Danny (Alma) Davis of Des Moines, IA; two step-sons, Denny (Crystal) Mongar of Altoona, IA, David (Marcy) Mongar of Des Moines, IA; his mother, Louise Davis; five sisters, Dixie (Kenny) Heim, Kathy (Wig) Renslow, Gina (Bobby) Beerbower, and Tanya Davis; three brothers, Butch (Shan) Davis, Alan (Barb) Davis of Des Moines, IA, Joe (Linda) Davis of Des Moines, IA; brother-in-law, George Shepard; thirteen grandchildren, Kyle Johnson, Bailey Johnson, McKenna Davis, Mason Davis, Macy Davis, Hunter Davis, Brooke Davis, Mya Davis, Kacie (Brandon) Thomas, Chelsy (Carter) Roberts, Kenzi (Konner) Prien, Chase Mongar and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Cindy Shepard, Grandchild, Konner Mongar, nephew, Maynard “Bud” Davis III and father, Maynard Davis, Sr.
