Passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at the age of 76. Terry was born in South Haven on September 23, 1939, the son of the late Prentiss Paul Stamp and Emily Elizabeth (Bell) Stamp. He served his country in the United States Air Force during Vietnam. He attended Western Michigan University for three years. He retired from General Motors after 30 years of service.
He was a member of the American Legion in South Haven and the Portage-Schoolcraft Eagles Club for many years. Terry loved to spend time on the water and was one of the original life guards at South Haven beach. He also was an avid skier and enjoyed auto racing, especially going to the INDY 500. After his retirement from General Motors, he enjoyed time with his beloved wife Rose, being with family, and standing “fire watch” with the grandkids.
Terry is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Rosalie (Paul) Stamp; four children, Marion (Clay) Stamp-Cole, Andrew Stamp, Daniel (Faida) Stamp and Phil (Kelly) Adkins; thirteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Marvin Adkins; and two brothers, Prentiss Paul Stamp II and Walter Thomas Stamp.
