Terry George Shelley, age 70 of Lakewood Colorado passed away on August 14th 2017 at his home.
Terry was born to George and Betty Preble Shelley August 27th 1946 at St Luke Hospital. He was raised on the original 640 acre homestead in Lakewood Colorado, which includes Addenbrook Park. He has two sisters; Terol Lynn Shelley and Trudy Shelley Avery and brother in-law Stephen Avery.
Terry graduated from Alameda High School in 1965, attended Northeastern Junior College and attained his Associates degree in Carpentry and Applied Science from Red Rocks Community College. Terry also loved the children he taught at the Deaf and Blind School in Colorado Springs. Terry and Laurel Lenore Baumert were married on November 12th 1975 in Aurora, CO at the home of Laurel’s sister, Candy. In attendance were their immediate families followed by their honeymoon in Steamboat, Colorado.
Terry and Laurel had three children; Joshua Layne Shelley, Sarah Shelley Langan, who married John Paul Langan and Erin Shelley married to Jamie Lynn Bohner and a grandchild, Patrick Laugesen.
He was introduced to The Christ of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by Lee Jones and became a member in 1973.
He is preceeded in death by his Father; George Arthur Shelley, his niece Petra Kasmine Jones, his father-in-law Harold William Baumert. In his final words “Yahoo, I’m free”
