Terrence John Cox, Sr., 82, of Lanham, MD passed away Cheverly, MD on July 5, 2020. Terrence was born on December 17, 1937 in Washington, DC to the late Bernard and Marie Cunningham Cox. He had lived in Lanham for 55 years. He completed high school and an apprenticeship before becoming a crane operator. Terrence’s hobbies included watching TV-especially the Washington Redskins and Nationals, wrestling matches, and NASCAR where he could cheer on his driver, Rusty Wallace.
Terrence is survived by his wife of 19 years, Kathleen Cox; former wife, Carol Ann Messick of Bruceton Mills, WV; sons Terrence John Cox, Jr. of Salisbury, MD and Kevin (Vicki Garufi) Cox of Edgewater, MD; brother, Tommy (Sonya) Cox of Fredericksburg, VA; three grandchildren, Erica Walling, Melissa Stoffel and Crystal Lang and five great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Terence was predeceased by one brother, Bernie Cox.
