Teresa Paulette Quarrell, 48, passed away peacefully Friday, January 26, 2018, at Banner Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona surrounded by family and friends.

Paulette was born May 9, 1969, in Deming; she was the daughter of Apolonia Lucero and Mike Quarrell, Sr.; sister to six brothers.  She graduated from Deming High School in 1987 and retired from NM Public Schools after 25 years as a teacher, student council adviser, cheer coach, instructional leader, new teacher mentor, instructional specialist, academic specialist, and assistant principal. After 2 ½ months of retirement, she was excited to start a new journey with Tucson Unified School District as a district Teacher Mentor.  She was a communicant of the Catholic Church and an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys.

She will be remembered for her affectionate smile that uplifted the spirits as she made an entrance, her love for cooking and sharing her posts, and her enthusiasm for life itself. Paulette devoted her life to education and was beloved by students, parents, and members of faculty and staff.

She is survived by Matthew James White of San Francisco, CA, whom she called her son; 5 brothers, Barney Quarrell and wife Bertha of Tucson, AZ, Mike Quarrell and wife Marlene, James Quarrell and wife Kathy, Frank Quarrell and wife Mary, Charlie Quarrell and wife of JoAnn all of Deming; many nieces, nephews, Godchildren, extended family members, colleagues, and friends.

Preceded in death by her parents, Mike and Apolonia Quarrell; brother, Louie Quarrell.
