The world lost a special light when God called Teresa Marie Follmer (née Beach) home on April 13, 2021, just a week after she celebrated her 56th birthday.

Teresa was born in Phoenix, AZ on April 5, 1965, and stayed here in the Valley to raise her children and build her legacy of love, hope, and positivity. Her long career as an interior designer fulfilled her creative passions and fueled her ability to be the exceptional host of parties we all knew her to be. She was seen as a constant ray of beautiful sunshine to everyone who knew her, and her passing weighs heavy on the hearts of countless friends and family.

Teresa was a treasured friend to many and treated her friends like family. She was incredibly generous and always placed others’ needs above her own. She went above and beyond to encourage, support, and be there for all her children and often for their friends as well. She was called “Mom” by the friends of all her kids, and she loved each of them like her own children. Teresa loved designing any space she walked into the moment she entered, and she could make any space beautiful. She enjoyed the outdoors, camping, playing sports, Disneyland, her dogs, and hosting big parties where she welcomed everyone. But most of all, she adored spending every precious second she could with her children and grandchildren, who she viewed as her greatest accomplishments.

Teresa fought a valiant battle against breast cancer for nearly five years before her body could no longer keep up with her fighting spirit. She was set free from her pain and struggle while at home in Gilbert, surrounded by her children and her mother.

Teresa was a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She is survived by her children and their spouses: Amber (Michael Valenzuela), John Follmer Jr. (Maggie), Brandon Follmer (Jessica), and Jared Follmer; her nine grandchildren: Ella, Emma, Easton, William, Marissa, Jade, Grayson, Maya, and Kelly; her mother Carole Jones; father Zane Rex Beach (Virginia Beach); half brother Zane Beach(Jill); and more friends and extended family than could possibly be listed – all of whom she loved more than words could say.
