Teresa Astorga
Teresa “Terry” Astorga, 63, of Oxnard passed away suddenly Wednesday, July 6, at her home. Terry was born on April 3, 1948 in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico. She grew up in San Diego, CA and then lived in Ventura County for over 40 years.
Terry met her husband, Jose “Javier” Astorga in San Diego. They met while still attending high school. As a teenager, Javier moved to Oxnard, CA and worked until Terry joined him; and then they married at the young age of 19. Within the next year, they started their family, first with a daughter, Jeanette, and three years later with a son, Gary.
After several years of being a housewife and mother, Terry attended a business trade school and then worked as a bookkeeper until she was hired to work at Point Mugu Naval Base. She was a Contract Specialist; and she worked there until she retired.
Terry was an avid sports fan, enjoying professional baseball, basketball, football and boxing.
