Tennie who was known by all as “Ten-Lee” spent many years preparing for this journey, she made the call, it was answered and her heavenly ticket was sent to come home on Friday September 19, 2014. Ms. Johnson was born in Morgan County to the late Roosevelt Johnson Sr. and Elnora Rice Johnson.
Tennie accepted Christ in her life at a young age and was a member of Union Grove P.B. Church until her passing. Tennie was employed as a domestic worker for many years and for the local Hardware store, Paul C. Davis. Tennie was a happy spirited and never met a stranger. Once you met her, you never forgot her and if you called her friend, she was one for a lifetime. Her presence lit up a room. Even though she did not intentionally try, she was the life of the party.
Tennie was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers Willie Frank & Roosevelt Johnson Jr.
Her memory remains and will be forever cherished by: her loving children, Cecelia Rice-Honey, of Huntsville; Sharon ”Mutt” Johnson, James Albert Johnson and Cedric “Ced” Johnson both of Decatur, Angela ‘Pooh” (Percy) Crews of Atlanta; one sister, Catherine Mosley of Decatur; one aunt, Elizabeth Kennedy of Decatur; 16 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; extended family, Frank Turner and Gayle Hampton, Marvaline Caudle, of Huntsville, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
