Tempie Kearney Hartley, age 79, died Tuesday. Born in Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late William Henry Kearney and Mamie Gladys Smith Kearney. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Hazel Evans and Vivian Turnage and brother, James Kearney. She was retired from the Wayne County Public Schools and a member of Rosewood Church of God. Tempie was a devoted Christian worker and loved music.
