    TeeNonia, the daughter of William “Francis” Powers and Mabel Valee Hurley, was born August 15, 1943, in Newton. She grew up in Rock Island, IL, Newton, and Marshalltown, and graduated from Marshalltown High School. She was united in marriage with Larry Hawk on June 16, 1962, in Marshalltown. They were blessed with two sons: Stanley and Daniel.

   TeeNonia had worked at Newton Manufacturing, Mid-West One Minute, Fisher Controls, Newton Walmart, and Newton Professional Purchasing. She also farmed alongside Larry while working these jobs. 

   TeeNonia was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed animals, sewing, crocheting, knitting, fishing in Minnesota, cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs and her boyfriend, Patrick Mahomes, playing cards with friends and family, and cooking. She always made sure no one left her house hungry. She also enjoyed going to garage sales, craft shows and antique shops.  She loved working in the fields at harvest time, taking cruises with her family, and most of all, providing love and care for her family.

   TeeNonia is survived by her husband, Larry of Kellogg; sons, Stan (Teresa) Hawk of Kellogg and Danny (Lisa) Hawk of Newton; her grandchildren: Taylor Hawk, Brett (Michelle) Lowry and Levi (Sadi) Hawk; and her great-grandchildren, Karlee and Krew Lowry and Hayden Hawk.  She was preceded in death by her biological parents; two stepfathers, Kenneth Cadman and LaVern Gooding; and her mother-in-law, Doris Hawk.
