Ted Stevenson, 87, of Ottawa, died October 19, at Pleasant View Luther Home in Ottawa.

Mr. Stevenson was born March 12, 1919 in Ottawa to Milton F. and Ethel (Clairmont) Stevenson. He was a 1937 graduate of Ottawa Township High School. He served in the army during WWII. He married Dorothy Beffel on December 29, 1942 at the First Presbyterian Church in Ottawa. He was a mail carrier in Ottawa and later he retired as a custodian for the Ottawa Grade Schools in 1981. He was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church, the choir and taught Sunday school. He was a member of AARP and Carrettos Bowling League.

He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Janis Stevenson of Chandler, Arizona; three sons, Tom (Wanda) Stevenson of Ransom, John (Marcia Varney) and Ray (Sharon) Stevenson both of Ottawa; 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Phyllis (Owen) Manigold of Grand Ridge, Marilyn Roesler of Ottawa, Betty (Kenneth) Blake of Elkhart, IN.; three brothers, Richard (Mary Ellen) Stevenson of Ottawa, Robert (Marie) Stevenson of San Diego, CA. and Wayne Stevenson of Glen Ellyn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Arnold Stevenson and one sister, Mildred Lucas.
