It is with the deepest sadness ever felt that we announce the passing of our son Taylor Connors. He was taken from us far too soon. Those who knew Taylor, know what a heart rendering loss this is.
There is a lot to be said about Taylor, and what he accomplished in his 24 years which is more than most do in their lifetime. He had many passions, like reading, dogs, movies, music the military (especially the Marine Corp) and religion among many other things. Taylors biggest passion however was his family.
In his youth, he was a Boy Scout and played comp soccer. He enjoyed camping, hiking, dirt bikes, atvs, and guns. He and his sisters spent countless hours outdoors on the trampoline, playing in the snow, building forts, climbing trees, water fighting, and so much more. Indoors it was reading (of course), board games, Wii bowling, sliding downstairs in sleeping bags, karaoke, watching movies and eating popcorn
Taylor attended Utah Military Academy where he wrestled, played varsity soccer, and competed on the UMA drill team. Taylor early enlisted in the Marine Corp during high school. He was first and foremost a Marine but also attended the United States Naval Academy.
As a Marine rifleman and honor graduate of the Corporal’s course, Taylor was assigned to FAST Company Bravo as a sniper, Marine Corps Security Forces out of Yorktown, Virginia, and deployed to Bahrain and Rota Spain. He was noted for volunteer work with a local school in Bahrain and an animal refuge in Rota. His chain of command described him as “intelligent, a critical thinker, very thoughtful, physically tough and honest — a Blue Chip Marine.”
At the Naval Academy, he was a member of the 23rd, 2nd, and 16th Companies, a physics major, and was on the Jiu-jitsu team. He was a member of the Semper Fi Society and competed with his company mates as an intramural sports athlete.
With all of these accomplishments one of Taylors proudest moments as a marine was completing the Bonefrog elite tier 1 competition with his “bro” Cesar Villanueva.
Taylor was a man of faith and is with his eternal father now. He is proceeded in death by his grandparents Cheryl Connors and Ron Connors. He is survived by his parents Bret and Victoria Connors, sisters Siera Theobald (Max), and their daughter Allison, Kaylee Betty (Mathew) and their children Asher and Madison, Ally Gill (Colby) and their daughter Freya, His grandparents Kent and Ladawn Oman, his birth mom Randee Davidson, and many other family and friends.
We would like to extend our gratitude to the Nurses and Doctors at Temple University Burn Center for the care you provided to our son in his last moments, to the US Navy, the Naval Academy and their affiliates for the kindness and compassion they have shown us and our family in our time of grief.
