Terrance Van Allen, a native and resident of the Dickinson community departed this life on Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2021 at his earthly home. He was born to the parentage of the late Percy Lee Allen and Juanita Pate Allen. He was the eleventh of twelve children.
Van accepted Jesus as his savior when he was a very little boy at Midway Baptist Church in Dickinson under the leadership of Rev. S.L. Penn. He loved church and his pastor, Rev. William Sharp Jr. He was a very dedicated usher. He took it very seriously. It was his job. He didn’t even want to go out of town on weekends for fear he wouldn’t be back for church on Sunday to usher. He loved to pray for everyone who was sick or bereaved, and my, did he send up some long ones!
Van attended the public schools of Clarke County in Fulton, Grove Hill and Jackson. He loved life and loved to have fun! He showed himself friendly, therefore, he had many friends who showed their friendship and love for him. He never met a stranger! Everywhere he went, he saw someone he knew. He genuinely loved everybody!
The gift that God blessed Van with was an exceptional memory. He could remember conversations that he had with his daddy and others from his early childhood and beyond. He was an amazing person!
Van was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings: Grace Evelyn, Linda Gray, Percy Lee Jr. and baby Wendy.
