Tara was born July 24, 1983, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Scott David Holverson and Debbie Diane Barzee Smith. She grew up and attended elementary schools in Idaho Falls. When she was 15 years old, her family moved to Culdesac, Idaho, where she attended and graduated from Culdesac High School.
In March of 2002, she married Reginald “Duane” Bascom. They were blessed with a daughter, Keaton. Tara and Duane were later divorced. On December 1, 2015, she married Ryan Scott Peterson in Idaho Falls. Tara became step-mother to his three children, Braxton, Macylyn, and Jaiden. Tara and Ryan made their home in Idaho Falls, where she was a loving wife, mother, and homemaker.
